Family flees mould-infested home while suing home builder

Sydney Walters and his family fled their sweltering, mould-infested Woodbridge home to seek refuge at a local hotel while they wait to hear if the city's top elected official will step up to help them.

"When we bought our house, we expected to raise a family there," said Mr. Walters, who lives with his girlfriend, their 13-year-old son as well as her sister and brother in-law. "Now, we're homeless."

Mr. Walters appealed to Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua last week, through the media, to set aside legal issues for now and assist him in getting his family into a home that is livable while their lawsuit against the city and a local builder, sparked by a lack of insulation in their attic, winds its way through the courts.
